About Dr. Ajay Kumar Poddar
A general physician by training and a public servant by vocation, Dr. Ajay Kumar Poddar represents Kulti in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly and serves as a Cabinet Minister in the Government of West Bengal.
Dr. Ajay Kumar Poddar began his journey in public service through the practice of medicine. A qualified medical practitioner with an MBBS degree from Ranchi Medical College, he served patients across the Kulti–Asansol industrial region for several years. His commitment to accessible healthcare, including affordable and free consultations for those in need, earned him the affectionate recognition of “Goriber Daktarbabu” — the Doctor of the Poor.
